New Safety Loading & Unloading Systems

New aArromax Loading and unloading systemsSafety is paramount in the construction industry and dangers are never more present than when trailers are being loaded or unloaded. The risk of workers falling from trailers is high and conventional safe working methods tend to be reactionary rather than proactively safeguarding operatives – fall mats and fall arrest systems still allow a fall to take place and in the case of fall arrest systems, the lines themselves can create another risk to the operative.

Arromax, for their own use in loading trailers with steel members, have developed a revolutionary and flexible system which minimises the risk of falls, by containment, yet allows easy, all-round access to the trailer for efficient loading and unloading using overhead cranes or mobile cranes.

Two versions of the system are available from Arromax -

Moveable Access Platform System

for medium/long term use with overhead/mobile crane (not fork truck).
and

Trailer Mounted Access System

mobile system for use with fork trucks or crane.

Moveable Access Platform System

The Moveable Access Platform System (patent pending) is designed for medium to long term use at the factory or on site. A flexible system, it provides access onto trailers that can vary in height and width, and with adjustable legs/feet, can sit level even on uneven ground.

The system comprises a main loading platform which sits against one side of a trailer/load and a mini platform which sits against the opposite side. The main loading platform provides a stable access to trailers via non-slip steps and a non-slip open mesh walkway. Falls from this platform are prevented by, on one side, a fixed handrail and on the other side, a handrail with ‘climbing’ mesh panels containing falls up to a height of 4.5 metres from ground level. Within these panels are three access openings which allow entry onto the load/trailer, which, in turn, are served by traversing steps, allowing the load to be safely accessed at any height. The mini platform, again, has a handrail and mesh panelling but with no access points. Additional containment panels can also be supplied to the front and rear of trailer.

Whilst safeguarding the operators the containment method allows the ‘top’ to be kept clear and open, enabling safe and speedy extraction of the load members.

The platforms are easily positioned into place via crane using certified lifting lugs or by fork truck.

NO LOADS TO CLIMB  -  NO LOADS TO WALK  -  NO FALLING OFF

A comprehensive instruction manual is provided which can then be incorporated into your own safe working plans applicable to your factory or site.

Trailer Mounted Access System

The Trailer Mounted Access System (patent pending) is a truly mobile system as it is fixed to the trailer unit.  It can be quickly and simply deployed when needed by the driver when collecting or delivering, bearing in mind that it is a legal requirement of a driver to check his load is safe before driving.

The system includes a fixed ladder to access the non-slip open mesh walkway, which slides out from the trailer, along with the handrail parts which are easily assembled.  In minutes access is created to part or all of one side of a trailer/load, or both sides.  With a handrail to prevent falls and a level and unrestricted operating area this safety system can be used in any location and with any type of loading/unloading equipment, cranes and fork trucks.

The system can be retro fitted to most trailers and when in travelling model it adds no width or height to the trailer.  It is supplied with a comprehensive instruction manual.
